Jeff Goldblum Is Doing Jazz?? Of Course He Is.

I'm a Jeff Goldblum guy. I'm a big fan. He has a niche for playing very unique characters and always finds himself as a key character in some of Hollywood's biggest franchises. Ranging from Invasion Of The Body Snatchers and The Fly to Jurrasic Park, Independence Day and most recently the role of The Grandmaster in Marvel's Thor Ragnarok. Now I am happy to say he has entered the music world as a jazz pianist and a pretty good one at that. Now he has made the transition playing weekly gigs in Los Angeles with his band called The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra (named after a friend of his Mother's) to dropping a full live album called The Capital Studios Sessions.

“I love improvising and that feeling of communication and interplay. It’s one of the cornerstones of my acting technique. I see my music in the same way.” – Jeff Goldblum

This album is fun. Bottom line. Its great music and a whole lot of fun as you could imagine Jeff Goldblum in a jazz/lounge setting could be. Stirring vocals from artists such as Haley Reinhart, Imelda May, Till Bronner along with a special appearance from comedian Sarah Silverman, its the perfect mix of music and banter to lounge with and has become one of my favorite live Jazz albums in recent memory. Check out a couple of tracks below and definitely take some time to listen to Jeff Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, The Capital Studios Sessions available from Decca Records.
