Local Encinitas Man Runs Toilet Paper Exchage

March 16, 2020

A surfer and physical therapist, Jonny Blue, like many of us, was disappointed and shocked at the toilet paper shortage. So what did he do? He started a toilet paper exchange.

On Saturday morning, Jonny stood on the corner of El Camino Real and Encinitas Blvd with a cardboard sign that said, "Share Your Toilet Paper." People LOVED it! Cars drove by and honked, some people even donated a few rolls. In return, Jonny gave those rolls out to drivers who were looking for some.

He told the San Diego Union Tribune, "This guy came here and said he just ran out and was going to a bunch of stores and couldn't find any...Somebody had given me some so I gave it to him. He was stoked."

"He was like, 'Do you want me to pay you?' I said, 'No, man. Somebody gave it to me. Take it.'"

Jonny said he decided to do the toilet paper exchange to encourage everyone to be better to each other during this pandemic.
